What is Vitiligo?

Vitiligo is a pigmentary disorder in which melanocytes (the cells that produce pigment) in the skin are destroyed because of which depigmented white patches appear on the skin in different parts of the body. The hair that grows on areas affected by vitiligo sometimes turns white.
